Marana Dems & Friends Is Ending Its Run

To our faithful FRIENDS in Marana

After five amazing years of service to Marana Democrats, the Board of Marana Dems and Friends has agreed that it will cease to exist.  The Club served a vital role during Covid, operating on Zoom, and bringing dynamic speakers and candidates to the forefront. The Chair, Edlynne Sillman, who started the club, has ensured the club held meaningful programming over the years. Conflicts with a myriad of other club meetings added to a decline in attendance which led to this decision.

Our membership is small, but we enjoyed the opportunity to ask our own questions of the speakers. We remain proud of the legacy of MD&F in recruiting and promoting local candidates who now proudly serve our communities.  We would like to thank all of the wonderful speakers who gave us their time.  Thank you also to all of our board members past and present, especially key operatives Beth Britton, Vice President; Sherry Goncharsky, Technical Lead; Sue Heck, Treasurer; and Kate Kosse, Secretary.

We encourage you to remain active and vigilant in protecting our democratic values during these dark times.  Local clubs and organizations welcome your membership and support so that you can continue to keep abreast of the information you need to be a trusted resource for your family, friends, and neighbors.

We have voted to evenly split the money in our account (about $1,000) between Arizona List and the LD17 Summer Youth Intern Program.

Thank you for your participation over the years.

There will NOT be a meeting in June and going forward.

In solidarity,

Edlynne Sillman

Beth Britton

Kate Kosse

Sue Heck
