Meet Alex: A Rising Leader Rooted in Community
Born and raised in Tucson, Alex traces his family roots back to before Arizona achieved statehood. His deep love for family and community drives every aspect of his life, career, and future ambitions.
A 2023 graduate of the University of Arizona with a degree in Political Science, Alex filled his college years with creative pursuits—as a photographer, videographer, student radio host, and announcer for Wildcats games. He’s a big fan of hip hop and the San Francisco 49ers.
These interests laid the foundation for his current role as Communications Coordinator for LUCHA (Living United for Change in Arizona) and ACE (Arizona Center for Empowerment). Both organizations are people-powered: LUCHA to train, develop and elect leaders and “to advocate for legislation benefitting our community” while ACE supports DACA students and immigrants with tangible resources. Together, they reflect Alex’s strong commitment to uplifting the Latino community and his belief in a society where people support each other despite differences.
Alex also plays a major role in Democratic politics in Tucson. He serves as Communications Chair for the Pima County Democratic Party and the chair of the Southern Arizona Progressive Council, a member of the Arizona Democratic Party Executive Committee, a precinct committeeman in LD17, and team lead for East Marana.
Not wasting his youthful energy, Alex also founded Aspiring Latino Lawyers, a nonprofit he hopes to expand nationally. His work earned him a spot among the Southern Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 40 Under 40 honorees for 2025, recognized for his commitment to building a better future for the region.
What’s next? Perhaps law school may be on the horizon, but for now, Alex is thriving as an organizer—and he’s excellent at it. Motivated by love, service, and a desire to uplift others, Alex is already shaping the future of our community.
We’re proud to have him on our team. Go, Alex!
