Together We Made A Difference!

On Saturday, July 18, dozens of LD17 Democrats, friends, and family joined Arizona State Representative Kevin Volk and candidates Holly Lyon and Edgar Soto at the Community Food Bank to pack boxes of food. During the three-hour event, volunteers packed 1300 boxes that will surely make a difference to local families, seniors, children, and other individuals in need.

Arizona is experiencing a hunger crisis. In Tucson alone, nearly 14% of residents are food insecure. That’s higher than the national average! The cuts in federal food subsidies have hit communities hard with more people depending on local charities like food banks to fill the need. The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona has seen a significant increase in demand for food, including from working families who are struggling to make ends meet.

Arizona needs leaders who care about the community and who are willing to dedicate time to help others. Kevin Volk, Holly Lyon, and Edgar Soto do just that! This November, vote for candidates who put public service over politics. Vote BLUE up-and-down the ballot!
