M & M: Tell us about your first job.

JoAnna: A lot of my childhood was spent working in the cotton fields with my parents. I grew up in Eloy, was raised in a farming family, and experienced rural poverty firsthand.

M & M: So now you’re running for a very different job – Representative in Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District. What’s going to make you successful there?

JoAnna: I’m going to take the same mission-focused attitude that guided me during my 20 years of military service and work hard to make Southern Arizona a better place for all of us. I’ll work with anyone to get the results our communities deserve.

M & M: What has surprised you most during this campaign?

JoAnna: The generosity and support from countless people across Arizona and the country who are willing to donate their time and chip in what they can is so humbling.

M & M: What is your favorite food and where do you get it?

JoAnna: That’s a tough one. Growing up, I really loved anything my Nana (grandmother) cooked. I also love Sonoran hot dogs and am a huge fan of Texas Roadhouse’s rolls.

M & M: What makes you laugh?

JoAnna: I love watching Saturday Night Live!
