LD17 Democrats General Meeting Notice September 16, 2026
Click here to sign up for the Zoom link to attend the meeting.
Join us for three interesting speakers at the September 16 General Meeting. Suzanne Droubie, the Pima County Assessor, will address us, as well Kristin Downing, who will speak about Proposition 318, the ballot proposition that among other things, would prohibit participation by trans girls on girls' athletic teams. Joe Ferguson, a reporter from the Tucson Agenda, will speak about the state of local journalism.
And, as a reminder, the members of the LD17 Democratic Committee will be asked to vote on the bylaws changes that we discussed last month, but because of notification requirements in our bylaws, not until our October meeting. Those who will be able to vote on the changes are the PCs who were elected in the July primary. Your terms will begin on October 1. (The terms of PCs who did not stand for election in July will end on September 30.) If you have any question about your status, please email Katie Maass or me (katiemaass1@gmail.com, chair@ld17azdemocrats.org)
The link to the bylaws is in the attached agenda.
And a heads-up: PCs will be asked to vote on a new slate of officers at the November reorganization meeting. Candidates for board positions will be announced at the October meeting and will stand for election for the 2027-2028 term.
