Did You Know?

Did you know the Department of Justice has sued 29 states, and Arizona is one of them? Why, you ask? The reason is not because 29 states and the District of Columbia have done anything wrong. It is because they have all stood strong for protecting your personal data and voting records, which Donald Trump’s administration has illegally demanded. The United States Constitution purposely gave the duty of running elections to the states – not the Federal Government. This was to make sure elections were run by the citizens for the citizens of those states and not dictated by a single person or special interest group.

Why do you care if Trump and his cabal have your voting records you ask? Because he has made it clear they will use the data to construct a federal voter list that tells the states who can and cannot vote. He has threatened prosecution of any local or state officials who doesn’t use only his list. He has also promised the U.S. Postal Service will be barred from mailing ballots to people not on his “approved voter” list.

Have you heard the various Trump cabinet officials who have described election integrity as making sure it’s the “right people voting for the right people?” This edited federal list is what they are talking about. I’m sure I wouldn’t be included and would never be allowed to vote again. How about you, your family, and your friends?

I encourage all of you to stand behind our Secretary of State, Adrian Fontes, and our Attorney General, Chris Mayes, as they stand up for our right to vote in free and fair elections. I also suggest supporting local, state, and national Democrats and other organizations, such as Democracy Docket, as they work to protect our Constitutional rights.
