We’re On A Petition Blitz!

Our Tabling Team was out in full force during the popular Spring Book Sale at the Oro Valley Library, ready to connect with the community. Thanks to strong volunteer support, we successfully staffed our nonpartisan petition table every hour across all four days the library was open. We gathered signatures for the Save Our Schools Protect Education initiative, Free and Fair Voting, and Justice for All petitions.

We were fortunate to have Jean Meconi’s red tent, which provided both a welcoming focal point and much-needed shade for volunteers and visitors alike. In addition, Liz Minno generously offered notary services on-site, making it easy for volunteers to complete, notarize, and return petitions in a single visit.

Community engagement was high. Many attendees were already familiar with the Voucher petition and eager to sign. Others were less familiar with the Voting petition but were quick to support it once they learned it aims to maintain the current voting system. Along the way, volunteers also encountered a range of perspectives, leading to some thoughtful, and at times, spirited conversations.

The success of these four days is a testament to the dedication of our Tabling Team. Volunteers shared information, answered questions, witnessed signatures, and filled petition after petition—all in an effort to help place these important issues on the November ballot. We were especially fortunate to be part of such a well-attended community event. On to the next opportunity!
