Where Are Our Young Dems?Answer: here!

Often in our network of Democratic volunteer groups and clubs, we bemoan the dearth of young people, another upcoming generation to take over the important work of maintaining democracy in Arizona and America.  Here is a reintroduction to Ethan Rigel who not long ago spoke to LD17 during our general meeting. He kindly and patiently answered questions so we can get to know him better.

Ethan cites as his first "political" action voting in 2016 at the age of 18 for Bernie Sanders. By 2022, he was the Field Organizer for Climate Action on behalf of the League of Conservation Voters.  He states that personally and professionally he has been involved in politics ever since and, I would add, heavily involved.

During the last election cycle he managed three canvassing offices: in Tucson, Mesa and Chandler, which resulted in 450,000 doors being knocked on for the campaigns of Harris, Gallego, Engel and Shah (CD1).

So what is Ethan doing now?  He describes himself as a "part-time student (Pima Community College, studying political science) and part-time campaign manager, looking for a full-time job."  Not one to be idle, he is a volunteer with LD17, a PC in precinct 192 and belongs to Young Dems of Arizona and Indivisible.  When asked if he has contemporaries and friends involved in Democratic life, he answered, "many."  What a heartening answer!

Thank you, Ethan Rigel!
