LD17 Democrats and State Rep Kevin Volk Stand with Students and Teachers
Public education in Arizona is under attack, but LD17 is fighting back with action. On November 1, join Supplies for Success, an event to help teachers and students in two Title 1 schools hit hard by the voucher scheme. Title 1 schools are those that receive federal funding to provide a fair, quality education to students from low income families.
While the wasteful voucher program drains $1,113 per student in Marana and $571 in Vail, we can come together to ease the burden and stand up for what’s right.
Bring supplies, bring friends, and bring your determination to defend public schools. After the supply drive, stay for our LD17 Fall Picnic—indoors, with food, community, and to celebrate our accomplishments.
Here are some of the items requested by the teachers: colored pencils, Crayola Crayons, dry erase markers, laminating sheets; more to follow on our website soon.
